Unsure

This is so crazy
the darkness inside
threatening to overtake me
threatening to override
I need to break free
from feeling all this pain
I have nothing left to lose
and everything to gain.
I'm so afraid to step away
from everything I know
to rid myself of these chains
and let myself live and grow
I struggle to see my own worth
In myself I cannot take pride
and so I quietly fade into shadows
back to where I hide
