Through day and night you ride along

the roads of life from here to nowhere

Fighting endless battles internal

trying to find the way to the place 

that you want to call home

Wandering for so long

you don't know how to stop

Afraid to find what might be there

if finally you let yourself take a break

Always moving forward, never looking back

Giving yourself grief and never slack

You aren't alone, in this journey you take

but you asked to be let go

So I stood aside to watch you ride

further away from me

Though deep inside I break

Tears in the dark that you'll never see

Your name from my lips as I dream

Things I want to say but keep inside

Allowing you time to make your choice

I smile and say everything's fine
